Why toolbout exists

The AI tool market is loud. Every product claims to be the best, and most "reviews" are either sponsored or written without touching the product. toolbout exists because choosing a tool shouldn't mean decoding hype. We put two tools in a bout, compare them on the same scorecard, and declare a winner with the reasoning on the record.

How we compare

Three rules keep every bout honest — you can read the full method here:

Every claim is sourced. Features and prices link to the vendor's own page. If we can't verify it, we don't state it.
Decided on fit, not sponsorship. A winner is picked for the reader's situation. Affiliate links never change the verdict.
Re-verified, not abandoned. Prices and features move fast, so comparisons get freshness checks instead of going stale.

AI disclosure: toolbout uses AI assistance to draft and structure comparisons. Every claim is then checked against the vendor's own documentation, and the editor takes responsibility for what gets published. If we can't verify it, we don't state it.

Who runs toolbout

toolbout is run by Alexios Kola, a solo founder and full-stack developer based in Athens, Greece. No team, no parent company, no ad network, no paid placements.

Comparisons are drafted with AI assistance and then fact-checked against each vendor's own documentation and pricing pages. A claim that can't be verified doesn't get published; a price that moves gets re-checked and corrected. The editor stands behind every verdict on this site — and answers for it.

How toolbout earns

Some links to tools are affiliate links: if you sign up through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That's the entire revenue model. It changes nothing about who wins a bout — the verdict is decided before a link is ever placed, and every page discloses the arrangement.

Trust is the product. If a verdict ever stopped being trustworthy, the site would be pointless. That's the strongest incentive we have to stay honest.

Freshness

Every comparison states when its facts were verified. We re-check prices and feature claims on a regular schedule and correct anything that has moved.
